So you’re attempting to write your Hypnotic Auction listing and you don’t know where to start. It is really not that difficult. In fact you do it probably every day.

You do know how to talk, right? I mean if you had a pencil in your hand, I’m sure you could describe it to someone. Well for the most part that what you want to do with an auction listing as well.

If you can talk, you can write. So just write like you talk. I’m sure this is completely contrary to everything you learned in any English class you ever attended, but you are not trying to re-create Shakespeare with your auction listing. You are just trying to tell a bidder about your item and hopefully compel them to place a bid.

People for the most part will read and understand something that is written in a format similar to how someone talks. It actually seems very personal and friendly. This style of writing also has the additional hint of familiarity, which will lead to greater trust and is extremely important when selling via auctions.

Now you do not want to use a bunch of jargon, buzz words, or slang terms but you do want to basically write like you talk. If you find it difficult to talk and type at the same time then just grab a tape recorder (or MP3 recorder these days) and record what you want to say. Then play it back and type what you hear. This is a little more work, but it will definitely cause you to write exactly like you talk.

Another thing to keep in mind is your sentence structure. Generally smaller words are better. Shorter sentences are clearer. Smaller and shorter are easier to read and follow. “Short and sweet” is not just a saying; it is how you should choose your words and sentences.

So let the words just flow out of your mouth onto the screen.

You’re looking for that perfect office chair for the conference room and you find a listing from a seller that says “Buy with Confidence” eBay Powerseller. You have only bought from eBay twice before and have no idea what this means. You figure with all of the online scams that you comes across, it is important to buy from someone with a good reputation. But what does it mean to be a “Powerseller”?

On the eBay website, an eBay Powerseller is defined as: “top sellers who sustain a consistent high volume of monthly sales and a high level of total Feedback….with 98% or better positive rating by other eBay users. These sellers rank among the most successful sellers in terms of product sales and customer satisfaction on eBay.”

When recognized as a Powerseller by eBay, you are granted access to the Powerseller logo on things such as business cards, letterheads, advertisements and on your online listings. This adds the guarantee for your buyers that you are a reputable seller with a high positive feedback rating. eBay has rules and regulations governing the Powerseller program and keeping your feedback at a high percentage of positive rating is required to stay in the Powerseller program for all new and existing program members.

When purchasing anything on eBay, a number one concern before purchasing tends to be related to security issues. The Powerseller logo can give the eBay Store or seller the added prestige of security for your purchase.

In order to maintain the Powerseller status, one also has to keep the monthly sales volume at an established level. There are also different levels of Powersellers, gold, silver, platinum, etc. to which one can aspire. These levels are also based on the monthly sales volume of the individual seller and are determined by eBay.

Powerseller status is not easy to reach on eBay and is thought of as a respected community honor to obtain. Since eBay sellers tend to think of their sales platform as a “community” as much as an auction network, having the Powerseller Status in front of your name as an eBay seller can add the reputation desired. Helping the buyer feel comfortable with purchasing from you instead of one of the many other online competitors, eBay Powersellers, more power to you.

There are many different ways to search for your office chair and purchase through eBay. You can use the eBay search keyword box and enter “office chair” or for more specific styles, you can input a variety of additional words. Mesh chairs, executive traditional, leather and ergonomic are all popular search terms. Simply press the search button and eBay will automatically show you a variety of choices and models to choose from with the option of buying from an auction listing or from a fixed price listing in an eBay Store.

Today, December 8,2005 when inputting the term office chair on eBay’s Homepage, I was able to pull up 735 different listings and 1365 listings in eBay Stores with 216 different online eBay stores carrying office chairs. Some of these eBay Stores had hundreds of models to choose from in chairs alone, not to mention the furniture and supplies also offered on most sites.

Even when searching for a chair on eBay, it is apparent that with the upgrades made to this top auction shopping site, there are even several different ways to shop. You can try the auction style listings and bid on an item and hope that in the end you are the winning bidder and have placed the highest bid closest to the end of auction. This can be more time consuming, can lead to prices going higher than normal due to aggressive bidding wars and delays the shipping of the chair to you.

You do need to remember that sometimes, if you have the time, while no one is paying attention, you might find that great auction deal and not be outbid, winning your chair at a small fraction of the regular price. So it is said that auction style listings and the thrill that can come from bidding on an item has it’s charms too.

Another method of search on eBay is to use the eBay Store Pages. With easy to search listings, custom ordered items, and purchase now, pay now options, these sites have the look and feel of any online shopping site. Each eBay store has their own store home page and site with store policies. You can find these stores on the left hand navigation bar on the eBay Home Page or at the bottom of the regular lisitngs in a display box.

These stores, while also having more listings and products than the standard auction ads on eBay for office chairs, also have the highest in feedback ratings and customer service satisfaction guarantees. You can compare prices, purchase directly through the Buy It Now option, pay directly through Paypal immediately and have the item shipped to you quickly. Most stores feature a chair guarantee and should have a return policy clearly stated on their listing.

Ebay stores tend to be run by eBay Powersellers, which puts them a step above the rest when it comes to proven customer satisfaction and high sales volume with the best shipping prices available. Many different pricing discounts can be found on eBay and with quoting from eBay sellers for quantity discounts, you should be able to find the best price possible for what you are looking for. No matter which search method you use, auction or stores, to find that perfect chair on eBay only takes a little time and effort.
